Fabric Requirements
Quilting cotton border fabric with a strip width of 11" and 4 repeats - 1 yard.
Or for design flexibility and fussy cutting - 1 1/2 yards.
Or one 11" wide strip - 70". .
Finished size with 11" wide strip - 20 x 36".
Size is determined by actual strip width cut.
Batting and backing for 3-4" larger than the finished size.
No binding required. Directions included for "pillowcase finish".
Sample on front cover is Lavender Market (20295-11) by Northcott - 7/8 yard. Finished size - 18 x 32"
Supplies:
60° triangle ruler - Creative Grids (#CGRT12560) recommended. Ruler MUST have flat tip or use template included to mark ruler.
Rotary cutter & mat
Basic sewing supplies
Walking foot optional
Design Considerations
Typical border print fabrics have four 9-11" wide sets of stripes and elements running the length of fabric. Designs may use all four stripes, portions of 2-3 stripes, or one long strip. Longer runners require more fabric. Narrower strips use less fabric and make a smaller runner.
