The BOHIN tracing wheel is very efficient in perforating paper and transferring the cutting and sewing lines of your paper pattern to your fabric. The perfectly sharp zig-zag disc is held at the end of a wooden handle that allows you to roll it on the pattern paper while following the lines. It is generally used with mineral chalk on a rigid support to avoid the risk of damaging your work fabric.
The chalk will thus be transferred in dotted lines onto the fabric. You will just have to remove the pattern and cut and sew the thus prepared pieces of fabric, following these dotted lines. The tips of the wheel can damage a fragile fabric. Do not use it on leather, skai or plasticised fabric.
We recommend that you test it on a sample of the fabric in question. The wheel is ideal to use for large, relatively simple outlines (sides, bottom), and to mark the pattern of the darts.
